It combines calcium and sodium salts of malic acid, fumaric acid and propionic acid that work in the organism of the animal, increasing its productivity.
Dietary carbohydrates are degraded in the rumen to produce pyruvate, which in turn is converted into volatile fatty acids by means of ruminal microorganisms (acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, lactic acid).
The accumulation of some of these acids, in particular, lactic acid in the rumen causes a decrease in pH below 6, which in prolonged periods can cause ruminal acidosis, with the consequent decrease in fiber digestion, lack of appetite, diarrhoea, ulcers and in severe cases the death of the animal.
Against this, Rumitec and its combination of salts of malic acid and fumaric acid help in the body to produce a minor transformation of pyruvate into lactic acid and an increase in the transformation of pyruvate into propionic acid, this acid is transported to the liver becoming glucose and a source of energy.
